£300 and counting!!

It has been around 12 months since I started fundraising for Macmillan. I had a very personal reason for starting - I was diagnosed with womb cancer in Dec 2009 and had a hysterectomy in January 2010 and started my chemo on March 2010.
Since I make jewellery as a hobby, thats what I started to sell to raise funds for this wonderful charity. Then, through meeting some of the wonderful sellers on Folksy, the fundraising snowballed as some of them offered items for sale in their own shops, donating the proceeds to my effort!
The effect was that, to date, £100 has been handed over to my local Macmillan fundraising group here on the island and a further £200 has been given direct to my wonderful Macmillan nurse, Morag, who helps admin a local palliative care fund that means that terminal or very ill patients can get access to things that will help their life become a little easier.

I just wanted to share with you some of the things that I have made which have gone towards raising this huge sum of money!
As I've said, there has also been some great support from fellow Folkster's and I'll showcase some of them in my next blog!
The Macmillan shop that I had on Folksy has now closed, but I now donate profits from my sales from my other shop to Macmillan and we are now on the way to the £400 mark!
So why not pop over and check out whats for sale - http://www.folksy.com/shops/buteartism
See you soon!
